Work-related learning: a success case

The collaboration between the University of L’Aquila, ITIS Majorana in Avezzano and SMC Italia borught to the hiring of several engineers and techniques. This happened after work-related learning experiences or thesis projects. The intuition of SMC Italia Chairman, Walter D’Alessandro, who has been leading the company for forty years, and of the school headmaster, Prof. Anna Amanzi (former headmaster in L’Aquila), allowed the company based in Carugate (MI) and with an important production plant in Carsoli (AQ) to transfer training activities for young people to the Abruzzo region. As a natural continuation of the collaboration between the company and the local educational institutions, the donation of educational material was agreed (a lathe, pneumatic panels for the study of the circuits and a manipulator). This is aimed to expand the already well-equipped laboratories of the ITIS.
